Service

Sea freight

Bulk, break-bulk, containers and ISO tanks, with chartering and stevedoring at load and discharge ports.

Sea is where the tonnage economics of a fertilizer trade are decided. The difference between a well-matched vessel and a badly matched one is measured in dollars per tonne, and the difference between a well-run and a badly run port call is measured in demurrage.

We fix tonnage against the parcel rather than the other way round — matching vessel size to the quantity, the draft at both ends and the loading rate the terminal can actually sustain. Stevedoring, surveying and port silo storage are arranged as part of the same booking.

Hygroscopic and oxidising cargoes have their own rules at sea. Hold cleanliness, segregation from incompatible cargo, and IMSBC or IMDG compliance are checked before fixture, not after the vessel arrives.
