Urea solution 32.5% — ISO 22241

A precisely specified 32.5 percent solution of high-purity urea in demineralised water, injected into the exhaust of diesel engines to reduce nitrogen oxides across an SCR catalyst.

The specification is unforgiving because the catalyst is expensive. Contamination — from a tank that previously held something else, from a dirty hose, from ordinary tap water — damages the system the fluid exists to protect. Dedicated equipment is not a refinement here; it is the product.

Packaging

  • Bulk in dedicated road tankers
  • IBC totes of 1000 l
  • Packaged containers of 5, 10 and 20 l, palletised

Storage and handling

  • Store between −5 °C and 25 °C; freezes at about −11 °C and thaws without damage
  • Dedicated equipment only — stainless steel, polyethylene or polypropylene
  • Never carbon steel, copper, brass, zinc or aluminium
  • Shelf life about 12 months at 25 °C, longer at lower temperatures; protect from direct sunlight

Transport

  • Unregulated for transport by road, rail and sea
  • Dedicated tanks and hoses with previous cargo history documented
  • Analysis on loading, and on discharge where the contract requires it

Documents

  • Technical data sheet (TDS) — issued with the offer
  • Safety data sheet (SDS) in the languages of transit and destination
  • Certificate of analysis, lot-specific, drawn at loading
  • Certificate of origin and EUR.1 where the destination allows preference

Documents are issued against a confirmed enquiry rather than published for download — an SDS is only meaningful for the grade and revision actually shipped.
