Sodium Nitrite
NaNO₂ — 99% min
A technical salt with a wide industrial footprint: corrosion inhibition in closed heating and cooling systems, diazotisation in dye manufacture, heat treatment baths, and concrete admixtures.
It is both an oxidiser and acutely toxic by ingestion, and it releases nitrogen oxides on contact with acid. Those two properties, rather than anything about its handling in bulk, are what govern how it is packed, stored and moved.

Classification, HS code and transport regime are confirmed per grade and per route at the offer stage. Figures below are indicative of the standard specification.
Packaging
- PP bags with polyethylene liner, 25 kg, palletised and hooded
- Big bag 500 / 1000 kg with liner
Storage and handling
- Dry, cool, ventilated storage away from heat and direct sunlight
- Segregate absolutely from acids — contact releases nitrogen oxides
- Segregate from combustible and organic material, and from ammonium salts
- Toxic by ingestion — controlled access and clear labelling in store
Transport
- ADR, RID and IMDG Class 5.1 with subsidiary 6.1, packing group III
- Approved packaging with UN marking; segregation from acids in the load plan
- DGSA oversight; safety data sheet in the languages of the route
Documents
- Technical data sheet (TDS) — issued with the offer
- Safety data sheet (SDS) in the languages of transit and destination
- Certificate of analysis, lot-specific, drawn at loading
- Certificate of origin and EUR.1 where the destination allows preference
Documents are issued against a confirmed enquiry rather than published for download — an SDS is only meaningful for the grade and revision actually shipped.
