Two hands holding a scoop of blended fertilizer prills and granules.

Nitrogen fertilizers

Urea, granular

CO(NH₂)₂ — 46% N

The same chemistry as prilled urea in a larger, harder granule. The difference is mechanical: granular material survives handling better and spreads accurately at the wide bout widths modern equipment uses.

It is also the form used in bulk blending, because its particle size can be matched to MAP, DAP and MOP so that the blend does not segregate between the blender and the field.

Transport status
Not classified as a dangerous good

Classification, HS code and transport regime are confirmed per grade and per route at the offer stage. Figures below are indicative of the standard specification.

Packaging

  • Bulk, in covered equipment or weather-tight holds
  • Big bag 500 / 1000 / 1250 kg
  • PP bags 25 and 50 kg, palletised and hooded

Storage and handling

  • Dry, covered storage; hygroscopic
  • Segregate from ammonium nitrate and from acids
  • Keep sealed until application; caking follows humidity cycling rather than time

Transport

  • Unregulated for transport by road, rail and sea
  • Covered equipment; clean and dry holds with previous cargo history checked

Documents

  • Technical data sheet (TDS) — issued with the offer
  • Safety data sheet (SDS) in the languages of transit and destination
  • Certificate of analysis, lot-specific, drawn at loading
  • Certificate of origin and EUR.1 where the destination allows preference

Documents are issued against a confirmed enquiry rather than published for download — an SDS is only meaningful for the grade and revision actually shipped.
