Nitrogen fertilizers
Urea, prilled
CO(NH₂)₂ — 46% N
The highest nitrogen concentration available in a solid fertilizer, and the simplest to move: urea is not a dangerous good, which removes ADR, RID and IMDG from the equation entirely.
Prilled material is smaller and softer than granular. It dissolves readily, which suits dissolving tanks and foliar preparation, but it spreads less evenly at wide bout widths and is more prone to breakdown in repeated handling.

- Avoid storing directly against concrete floors without a barrier
- Segregate from ammonium nitrate and from acids
- Shelf life indefinite when kept dry and sealed
Transport
- Unregulated for transport by road, rail and sea
- Covered equipment required — the commercial risk is water damage, not hazard
- Clean, dry holds; previous cargo history checked to avoid contamination
Documents
- Technical data sheet (TDS) — issued with the offer
- Safety data sheet (SDS) in the languages of transit and destination
- Certificate of analysis, lot-specific, drawn at loading
